CUBED: Next Level Dominoes takes the idea of dominoes and adds a fresh, 3D twist. Instead of laying tiles flat, you’ll be stacking and matching colorful cubes by height and color, while using special blocking pieces to cut off areas of play. It’s simple to learn, strategic, and competitive. This page covers the official rules, scoring, and even a solo mode.

Setup

Basic Gameplay
- The first player may play any piece except a Blocking piece.

- A Blocking piece can only be used after at least three pieces are on the table.
- Every new piece must match both height and at least one color already in play.
- Starting with the second turn, all pieces must touch at least two other pieces on the table.
- If you cannot play, you must draw a piece. If you still can’t play, your turn ends.
Special Rules
- Matching Colors – At least one side must match in color with a neighboring piece.
- Matching Heights – Pieces must align in height when placed.
- Blocking – Blocking pieces are placed to block off areas, matched by their colored side. Blocked areas cannot be played into again.

Scoring and Winning
- A round ends when one player plays all their pieces. That player scores 0 points.
- Everyone else totals their remaining pieces:
- Blocking Piece = 5 points
- Triple Piece = 3 points
- Double Piece = 2 points
- Single Piece = 1 point
- After 3 rounds, the player with the lowest score wins.
- For a shorter game, play just 1 round.
Variant Rules
- Bridging the Gap – If you bridge two separate areas, play a second piece immediately.
- Fill the Void – If you fill a completely enclosed space, give one piece from your hand to another player.
- Draw 3, Keep 1 – Instead of playing, draw 3 pieces, keep 1, and return the others. Your turn ends.
Solo Mode
- Draw 25 pieces (discard extras if you have more than 3 Blocking pieces).
- Place a starting piece (not a Blocking piece).
- Play by the same rules as multiplayer, drawing when stuck.
- If you cannot make a legal move after two draws, you lose.
- Win by playing all of your pieces.
