Objective
Score the most points by:
- Claiming routes between cities.
- Completing Destination Tickets.
- Earning the Longest Continuous Path bonus.
Unfinished Destination Tickets subtract points from your score.
Turn Actions
On your turn, you must do one of the following:
1. Draw Train Car Cards
- Draw 2 cards, either from the 5 face-up cards or from the top of the deck.
- If you take a face-up Locomotive (wild), you may only draw 1 card that turn.
- If 3 of the 5 face-up cards are Locomotives, discard all 5 and reveal new ones.
2. Claim a Route
- Play a set of cards equal to the length and color of the route you want.
- Place your Train Cars on the route’s spaces.
- Score points immediately (see Route Scoring Table).
Route Scoring Table
- Length 1 = 1 point
- Length 2 = 2 points
- Length 3 = 4 points
- Length 4 = 7 points
- Length 5 = 10 points
- Length 6 = 15 points
Gray routes can be claimed with any single color set.
Double routes exist between some cities, but in 2–3 player games, only one of the two routes may be claimed.
3. Draw Destination Tickets
- Draw 3 Destination Tickets. Keep at least 1, return any extras to the bottom of the deck.
Train Car Cards
- 8 regular colors: Purple, Blue, Orange, White, Green, Yellow, Black, Red.
- Locomotives (wild) substitute for any color.
- Players may hold any number of cards in hand.
End of Game
When a player ends their turn with 0–2 trains left, each player (including them) takes one final turn.
Final Scoring
- Add up route points already scored.
- Reveal Destination Tickets and add/subtract their values.
- Award 10 bonus points to the player(s) with the Longest Continuous Path.
The player with the most points wins. In case of a tie, the winner is the player with the Longest Continuous Path.
