Bloomchasers is a dynamic, ever-changing strategy game where players grow a 3D tree together—branch by branch, bud by bud. What starts as a simple tree trunk quickly evolves into a vibrant battlefield (or peaceful garden) in the sky. Whether you play competitively, cooperatively, or solo, no two games are ever the same.

How to Play Bloomchasers

Game Overview

In Bloomchasers, you and your fellow players grow a shared tree using snap-fit branches, competing or collaborating to plant buds and create flowers. Each branch can be placed in countless configurations, creating an evolving tree structure that rewards creativity, adaptability, and timing.

You’ll place colorful buds on branches, aiming to form specific patterns that allow your larger flowers to bloom. But be careful—other players can “borrow” your buds to finish their own blossoms!

With durable components and a replayable, modular design, the tree can be built differently every time, offering endless strategic possibilities.

Game Modes

Competitive Mode

In the classic game mode, players compete to grow the most valuable flowers on the tree. Carefully plan your branch placements, maximize your budding potential, and time your blooms for maximum points.

Co-Op Mode

Work together to build and bloom against increasingly harsh weather conditions. Combine your efforts to grow as many flowers as possible before time (and the weather) runs out.

2v2 Team Play

Form alliances and coordinate strategy with a partner. You’ll share a color and plan your budding placements together, while trying to outmaneuver your opponents.

Solo Mode

Enjoy a peaceful challenge by yourself. Use the same co-op rules, but race solo against the evolving weather to build the highest-scoring tree you can.

Bloomchasers Gameplay

1. Create the Climate

Start by building the Climate Deck:

• Shuffle 9 Weather cards with 2 special Bloom! cards.
• This deck determines the conditions of each game—rainy and lush, dry and windy, or something in between.
• The deck is shared by all players. At any given time, three cards from the deck are face up, representing the current “weather” for your turn.

2. Place a Branch

On your turn, choose one branch from your supply and attach it to the tree in any legal configuration. Branches can be placed above or beside others, creating an ever-expanding, 3D game board.

3. Use the Weather

Pick one of the three visible Weather cards to activate its unique ability. Then, use that ability to place one of your colored buds strategically on the tree.

Weather card actions may allow you to place a bud in a certain direction, affect opponent pieces, or prepare for future blooms.

4. Bloom When the Time is Right

Whenever a Bloom! card is drawn, all players may place flowers onto the tree—if they’ve set up the right pattern.

To place a flower:

• You need a matching pattern of 3 buds on connected branches.
• At least two of the buds must be your own color.
• You may use one opponent’s bud to complete the pattern—stealing their setup for your benefit!

Choose from three unique flower types: Sunflower, Rainflower, or Windflower. Each type has a unique shape and scoring value depending on the weather conditions.

End of Game & Scoring

The game ends once all branches have been placed and the tree is fully grown.

Players then total the points from their completed flowers. Each flower’s point value depends on how many matching Weather cards appeared in the Climate Deck—rarer weather = more valuable flowers.

The player with the highest total score wins and is crowned the Master Bloomchaser.
