Marvel United: Spider-Geddon is a cooperative, miniatures-based game where players take on the roles of iconic Spider-Verse heroes to stop the sinister Spider-Geddon event. Working together, players use their unique abilities to thwart villainous schemes and protect the multiverse from chaos. With fast-paced gameplay and dynamic hero powers, Spider-Geddon delivers an action-packed adventure for fans of Spider-Man.

Objective:

  • To defeat the villain and their minions while completing various objectives to save the day. Each scenario has specific goals and conditions to achieve victory.

Setup:

  1. Players: 1-4 players.
  2. Game Components:
    • Hero Figures: Spider-Man and other Spider-Verse heroes.
    • Villain Figures: New villains from the Spider-Verse.
    • Location Boards: New locations from the Spider-Verse.
    • Hero Cards: Cards for Spider-Man and other heroes, including their unique abilities.
    • Villain Cards: New villain cards, including their actions and effects.
    • Threat Cards: Cards that represent ongoing threats and challenges.
  3. Initial Setup:
    • Choose Heroes: Each player selects a hero from the Spider-Geddon expansion and takes their corresponding Hero Cards.
    • Choose Villain: Select a villain from the expansion and set up their Villain Board.
    • Location Setup: Set up the location boards as specified in the scenario.
    • Shuffle Decks: Shuffle the Hero, Villain, and Threat decks and place them face down.
      • Example Setup:
        1. Heroes: Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, and other Spider-Verse characters.
        2. Villain: A villain from the Spider-Verse expansion.
        3. Locations: Set up Spider-Verse locations as specified in the scenario.

Gameplay:

The game is played in turns, with each turn consisting of the following phases:

  1. Hero Turn:
    • Play Action Cards: Each hero plays an action card from their hand, which can be used to move, attack, or use special abilities.
    • Resolve Actions: Perform the actions indicated on the card, such as moving to a new location, fighting enemies, or completing objectives.
    • Draw New Card: Draw a new card from the Hero deck if necessary.
  2. Villain Turn:
    • Reveal Villain Action: Draw a card from the Villain deck to determine the villain’s actions, which may include attacking heroes, advancing threats, or other effects.
    • Villain Actions: Resolve the actions specified on the villain card, including placing new minions or advancing the villain’s plan.
  3. Threat Phase:
    • Resolve Threats: Check the Threat deck and resolve any ongoing threats or challenges that affect the heroes or the game state.
    • Advance Threats: Threats may advance or trigger additional effects based on the scenario or the current game state.

Winning and Losing:

  • Winning: Achieve the specific victory conditions outlined in the scenario. This often involves defeating the villain, completing objectives, or saving locations from destruction.
  • Losing: The game ends in defeat if the heroes fail to achieve the victory conditions, if all heroes are defeated, or if the villain completes their evil scheme.

Tips for Playing:

  • Coordinate Actions: Work with other players to optimize your actions and use your hero’s abilities effectively.
  • Manage Threats: Keep an eye on the Threat deck and manage any ongoing threats to prevent them from escalating.
  • Use Hero Abilities: Make the most of each hero’s unique abilities and work together to overcome challenges.
