How to Play Monopoly Junior

Game Objective:

Like traditional Monopoly, Monopoly Junior’s goal is to accumulate wealth. Players buy, trade, and collect rent to reach a target amount of money (usually $1 million). This fast-paced version is ideal for younger players.

Components:

  • Game board with kid-friendly locations (ice cream parlor, skate park, zoo, etc.)
  • Playing tokens
  • Chance cards
  • Money bills
  • Title Deed cards
  • Sold signs
  • Die

Setup:

  1. Assemble the Board: Unfold the game board and place it in the center.
  2. Choose Your Token: Each player chooses a token and places it on “GO.”
  3. Banker: One player becomes the Banker, managing money and property deeds.
  4. Deal Money: The Banker distributes starting money to each player.

Gameplay:

Players take turns clockwise. On a turn:

  1. Roll the Die: Roll the die and move your token the corresponding number of spaces.
  2. Landing on a Space:
    • Unowned Property: You may buy the property from the Bank at the listed price. If you buy it, pay the Bank and take the Title Deed. (Optional: Auction unowned properties.)
    • Chance Space: Draw a Chance card and follow its instructions.
    • GO: Collect $200 from the Bank.
    • Owned Property: Pay rent to the owner.
    • Other Spaces: Follow any special instructions for that space.

Winning:

The game ends when one player reaches the target amount of money (usually $1 million). Bankrupt players are out; their properties may be auctioned. The player with the most money wins.

Additional Notes:

Monopoly Junior offers faster gameplay and simplified rules compared to classic Monopoly. It focuses on buying, renting, and money management, introducing kids to these concepts.

So grab your favorite token, roll the die, and embark on a fun adventure through Monopoly Town, buying properties and becoming the wealthiest junior mogul!
