Titanic is a suspenseful drinking game that builds tension with every pour. Inspired by the legendary ship, this game challenges your nerves and your drinking tolerance as players take turns adding alcohol to a floating shot glass—trying not to sink it. The player who finally causes it to sink? Bottoms up!

How to Play Titanic (Drinking Game)

What You Need:

  • 1 large glass (a pint glass or similar)
  • 1 shot glass (small enough to float inside the larger one)
  • Beer (to fill the large glass)
  • Liquor of choice (for pouring into the shot glass)
  • 2 or more players

Gameplay

  1. Set the Stage
    Place the empty shot glass into the large pint glass. Then, fill the pint glass with beer until the shot glass just barely floats.
  2. Take Turns Pouring
    Players take turns carefully pouring a small amount of liquor into the floating shot glass. Steady hands and strategy are key!
  3. Don’t Sink the Ship
    Keep taking turns adding liquor. The tension builds as the shot glass gets heavier and lower in the beer.
  4. If You Sink the Titanic… You Drink It
    The player who adds the final bit of liquor that causes the shot glass to sink must chug the entire contents of the pint glass — beer and liquor included.

Tips & Variations

  • Add a Rule for Hesitation: If someone takes too long to pour, they drink.
  • Double Sink Challenge: If the shot glass tips without sinking completely, the pourer takes a penalty shot.
  • For Hardcore Players: Replace beer with a stronger base, like cider or a mixed cocktail.
