Using a roulette wheel and numbered shot glasses, players take turns spinning and sipping—never quite sure what the next spin will bring. It’s a fun, unpredictable way to get everyone involved and entertained.

How to Play Shot Roulette

Objective

The goal of Shot Roulette is simple: spin the wheel, follow the instructions, and enjoy the party. The game combines chance and drinking into a fun, unpredictable social experience.

Components

  • 1 Roulette-style spinning wheel
  • 1 roulette ball (or pointer, depending on version)
  • 16 numbered shot glasses (numbered 1 to 16)

Setup

  1. Fill each shot glass with your drink of choice (alcoholic or non-alcoholic, depending on your group’s preferences).
  2. Place each glass in its corresponding numbered slot on the roulette wheel.
  3. Decide on your house rules:
    • What types of drinks are used
    • How long the game lasts (e.g. first to 5 shots, set time limit, or last one standing)

Basic Gameplay

  1. The first player spins the roulette wheel and/or drops the ball.
  2. When the wheel stops and the ball lands in a numbered slot:
    • The player drinks the shot from the glass with the matching number.
    • That shot glass is refilled and placed back in the wheel.
  3. The next player takes their turn.
  4. Continue spinning, drinking, and refilling.

Optional House Rules (to add more variety)

  • Blackout Bet: Players bet on a number before spinning. If they’re right, they pick who drinks. If they’re wrong, they drink.
  • Double Trouble: If the same number comes up twice in a row, the player takes a second shot.
  • Switcheroo: Before spinning, the player can choose someone else to take the shot if it lands on an even number.
  • Truth or Shot: After drinking, the player must answer a truth question or take an extra shot.
